Social leasing begins its third annual campaign this Thursday, July 16th. This government assistance program allows low-income households to lease an electric car for a monthly fee starting at €94. The program targets French citizens whose income does not exceed certain limits and who travel a minimum distance between their home and workplace. The goal remains to accelerate the transition to electric mobility for households that rely on it most on a daily basis.
Eligibility requirements and vehicle offer
Thirty models from fourteen brands are featured in the catalog offered to eligible applicants. Participating manufacturers have adapted their offerings to meet the program's requirements. The long-term lease includes insurance and vehicle maintenance. Applicants must complete an application documenting their tax status and regular business travel. Allocations are subject to the limits of the budget allocated by the government.
The renewal of the social leasing program confirms the government's commitment to making electric vehicles accessible to social groups most affected by mobility constraints. The first two editions quickly exhausted the available allocations. Applicants are therefore encouraged to submit their applications without delay to maximize their chances of receiving a positive response in the coming weeks.
