In just a few years, CUPRA has established itself as one of the fastest-growing brands in Europe. Launched in 2018 by SEAT, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the Spanish brand has shed its image as a mere sports label to become a fully-fledged manufacturer, focusing on assertive design, cutting-edge technologies, and the rapid electrification of its range. Positioned between mainstream brands and the premium segment, CUPRA appeals to a younger clientele, drawn to its bold identity and resolutely innovative approach.
This strategy is paying off. In the first half of 2026, CUPRA delivered 170,100 vehicles, a record for the brand. Within SEAT & CUPRA, revenue increased to €7,7 billion, while operating profit reached €122 million, an improvement of €84 million compared to the same period in 2025. This momentum confirms CUPRA's key role in the Spanish manufacturer's financial recovery.
Electricity as an engine of growth
The year 2026 marked a turning point with the arrival of the CUPRA Raval, the brand's first electric city car produced in Spain. This model represents a major strategic undertaking, as it aims to democratize access to electric mobility while preserving CUPRA's distinctive sporting DNA. Its launch exceeded the brand's expectations, leading to an 85% increase in electric vehicle orders in the second quarter, making the Raval the most successful commercial launch in CUPRA's history.
In France, the Raval also represents a key driver of growth. CUPRA's management believes it will allow the brand to expand significantly in the French market and sustainably strengthen its presence in the electric city car segment, which is particularly strategic for the coming years.
A strong identity in a highly competitive market
Beyond its sales performance, CUPRA relies on a distinctive brand identity. The manufacturer develops a range that includes the Formentor, Leon, Born, Tavascan, Terramar, and now Raval, with a distinctive style blending sportiness, advanced technology, and contemporary design. This approach allows it to stand out in a European automotive market facing ever-increasing competition, particularly with the arrival of Chinese manufacturers.
By continuing its push into electric vehicles while maintaining its emotional and sporty positioning, CUPRA now aims to establish itself as one of the key brands of the new generation of European automobiles. The results recorded since the beginning of the year confirm that this strategy is beginning to bear fruit and positions the Spanish brand among the most dynamic players in the sector.
