The Trump Organization has unveiled plans for a 91-story hotel and residential tower in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in the Australian state of Queensland. Estimated at $1,1 billion, it would be the first Trump-branded property in Australia.
Australian developer Altus Property Group announced it reached an agreement with the family-owned group on February 14 in Florida. The project includes a luxury hotel, 270 apartments, a shopping mall, restaurants, a beach club, and a swimming pool. According to its developers, the tower will reach 340 meters and become the tallest in Australia.
A project subject to local authorizations
The construction will, however, require the necessary permits. Municipal authorities have indicated that a permit application will be reviewed once it is submitted. The Gold Coast already has several skyscrapers, including the 322-meter-high Q1 tower, currently the tallest in the country.
The group hopes to complete the project by 2032, in time for the Brisbane Olympics. Another tower project, over 390 meters tall, has also been announced nearby, which could alter the ranking of Australia's tallest buildings.
