The Centre Pompidou-Metz welcomed 315,148 visitors in 2025, the year of its fifteenth anniversary, representing an increase of 2,2% compared to 2024, confirming the establishment's sustainable position above the symbolic threshold of 300,000 annual entries.
A predominantly regional audience
According to figures released by the institution, 60% of visitors come from the Grand Est region, representing more than three-quarters of the French public visiting the establishment. This increasing attendance is largely due to a highly acclaimed program, driven in particular by the "Endless Sunday" exhibition, dedicated to Maurizio Cattelan and the Centre Pompidou collection, which has already attracted 226,368 visitors in 204 days, an average of 1,110 visitors per day.
This dynamic confirms the return, then the surpassing, of the pre-Covid-19 pandemic attendance level for the Lorraine branch of the Parisian museum, whose flagship exhibition is due to continue until 2027.
An architecture designed by one of the world's biggest names
Designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, the 54,000-square-meter building, recognizable by its undulating roof inspired by a Chinese hat, draws on the largest European collection of 20th- and 21st-century art to host ambitious temporary exhibitions. Since its opening in 2010, the Metz branch of the Centre Pompidou has established itself as one of the most visited cultural institutions in France outside the Paris region.
The cumulative economic benefits of the establishment for the Metz region are now estimated at 214 million euros since its opening 15 years ago.
