Invited this Sunday, October 26, to the “Grand Rendez-vous” of Europe 1, CNews and Les Échos, Manuel Valls delivered a frank analysis of the political landscape in the run-up to the 2027 presidential election. Asked about a possible duel between Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Marine Le Pen, the former Prime Minister believes that such a scenario would inevitably lead to the victory of the National Rally.
“Mélenchon wants chaos to exist”
According to Manuel Valls, the rebellious leader's strategy is based on provoking a major political shock: "Mélenchon wants the victory of the National Rally, regardless of its candidate, to justify chaos, insurrection, or a people's revolution." He accuses the leader of La France Insoumise of fostering a strategy of confrontation, preferring the collapse of the republican system to any form of political compromise.
Refusing to say who he would vote for in the event of a Mélenchon-Le Pen duel, Valls denounced "a trap" set by the extremists. He called for the emergence of a "republican alternative" before 2027: "We must do everything to ensure that in 2027, there is another path than that of fear or chaos," he argued, warning of the risk of a "clear and unequivocal" victory for the RN if the radical left continues to impose its priorities.
